Foster a pet

Foster Pets from Salt Lake County Animal Services

Looking to get involved with the animals but not ready for a lifelong commitment? Have you ever considered fostering?Fostering a pet is great way to help the shelter. Fostering allows animals to get the benefit of being out of the shelter environment.
Fostering helps animals by:
  • Providing a more normal environment to socialize the animal.
  • Providing a safe environment for newborn or young puppies or kittens to grow until they are ready for adoption.
  • Providing a quiet environment for sick or injured pets to get back to health so they are ready to be adopted.

For more information on the animals available for adoption or fostering or to learn more about the procedures required for participating in the fostering process, contact Kathy Jo Ventrano at Salt Lake County Animal Services or send an email to fosters@slco.org
